Several months ago Boekingsservice introduced the possibility to book a holiday home with the help of maps and satellite images of Microsoft Virtual Earth. The next scoop is that important tourist attractions can be found on those maps as well.
Looking for a holiday home, but also interested in the activities or sightings the area offers? This can now be seen at Vakantieglobe.nl, http://www.vakantieglobe.nl (in the Dutch language Vakantie means Holiday). A home in the vicinity of an amusement park or looking for the tranquillity of a nature reserve? Choose your favourite area and all the available holiday houses of Boekingsservice will be shown on the map accompanied by the attractions and sightings in the neighbourhood. Even important airports are shown.
The first 6000 homes can be booked on Vakantieglobe.nl. In a few weeks time there will be 25000 holiday homes available. These homes can be found in nearly all European countries. A selection of the possible attractions will follow soon. The Dutch and Belgian maps already show a lot of nice suggestions. New attractions are added everyday.
Interactive travelguide
The tourist information is delivered by Wereldpagina.nl (in the Dutch language Wereldpagina is something like World page), the interactive travelguide of Boekingsservice. Visitors can add their own information. This information will appear on vakantieglobe.nl. An English translation of Wereldpagina.nl will follow soon.
