Austin, TX (PRWEB) September 15, 2005
End Sounds has re-launched the labels web site, http://www.endsounds.com, with industry leading features.
The DIY site features both RSS (Really Simple Syndication) and JavaScript feeds of both tour dates and news items broken down by artist. This push content allows fans and industry partners to easily keep up to date on tour dates and news involving the label and its artists.
Visitors to the End Sounds web site can sign up to receive a phone or e-mail reminders of events. End also provides artists with their own phone text messaging and e-mail mailing lists system, which was built from scratch by the labels President and Co-Founder Jonathan Gill (21). Accounting is performed online with a custom built solution, which enables artists to view statements in real-time as well as export those statements in various reports to a spreadsheet program. The artists also contribute to the site through a custom built content management system which allows them to perform functions similar to the site administrators, with a few access restrictions.
In explaining the functionality chosen for the new web site Gill likens the flow of information on web sites to a supply chain, It might sound trivial, but content is power. In any sort of supply chain whether that is physical, digital, or any other means, the ability to push and pull content from the best sources, in the quickest amount of time should be your goal. Engineering the process to eliminate any intermediary steps and save money is an art all its own.
In putting his art into practice Gill and a team of friends coded, documented, and tested the system in their free time in just under three months time with an estimated cost avoidance of $ 15,000 and an ROI of greater than 800% without any outside consultants.
End Sounds has always been ahead of its time by its very nature. Gill, the projects lead developer, co-founded End Sounds (then End Records) at the age of 16 in 2001 literally from his childhood bedroom. He is currently a student at one of the top business schools in the nation, The McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas in Austin, Texas.
Following the launch of the new web site, End Sounds will release Saboteurs Self-Titled EP on November 1, 2005 under a new distribution contract with Sony/RED.
