The new Mobile SSH will support IBM 5250 and IBM 3270 terminal emulation on Nokia phones, including the E91 and the 9300 models. These Mobile SSH features were previously supported only on BlackBerry devices. IBM 5250 and 3270 terminal emulation provides access to IBM iSeries, IBM mainframes and AS/400 computers.
Mobile SSH is a client-only Telnet and SSH application that allows users to monitor systems, performs routine maintenance, and access applications from their wireless handhelds. Mobile SSH supports VT100, IBM 5250, and IBM 3270 terminal emulation, enabling terminal access to a wide range of network devices including AS/400, iSeries, Unix, and Linux computers, as well as IBM mainframes, routers, and switches.

The upcoming version of Mobile SSH is being demonstrated at iSeries DevCon in Las Vegas on a BlackBerry 8700c, recently introduced by RIM, which features a completely re-engineered device platform optimized for breakthrough performance and usability. On the 8700c, users are able to view the entire AS/400 screen accessed through Mobile SSH. iSeries DevCon, which runs from November 7-9, is the premier international event for iSeries technical experts, top third-party solution providers, and developers with expertise in technologies including Java, WDSC, WebSphere, XML, RPG IV, ILE, SQL, APIs, HTML and JavaScript.
