Mobile GUI Test Automation: Squish Goes Android

Hamburg, Germany (PRWEB) June 13, 2012

The Squish GUI testing tool is the market leading tool for cross-platform GUI test automation on desktop, embedded and mobile platforms. By adding the Android Edition, Android App developers finally have the professional GUI testing tool option for software functional and regression testing.

“Squish for Android deeply hooks into the tested App – on the device or an emulator – to grant the tester full access to the App’s object tree, properties and methods. This approach has proven very successful in other Squish editions. Making the creation of more reliable and sophisticated tests than those with image-based testing tools possible”, says Harri Porten, froglogic’s CTO.

Squish for Android comes with the same feature set already known in other Editions: convenient test script recording, flexible scripting capabilities, integration with powerful Eclipse-based test development environment, and more. In addition, it features dedicated support for all Widgets from the latest Android SDK and touch gesture support.

Squish for Android is currently in BETA. Pre-release packages can be obtained by contacting sales(at)froglogic(dot)com. The final version will be part of the upcoming Squish 5 release.

About Squish

Squish is the leading functional, cross-platform GUI and regression testing tool that can test applications based on a variety of GUI technologies, including:

Nokia’s Qt Software Development Frameworks
Java SWT/Eclipse RCP, Java AWT/Swing
Windows MFC and .NET
Mac OS X Carbon/Cocoa
iOS CocoaTouch
Web/HTML/AJAX

Squish stands out from other GUI testing tools by giving test engineers the freedom to record and write tests using familiar scripting languages such as JavaScript, Perl, Python, Tcl, and Ruby. Furthermore, Squish provides extremely tight integration with the specific GUI technologies it supports. This gives testers unprecedented access to the internals of the applications they are testing (to data items, controls, widgets, etc.), and also leads to the production of very robust and stable GUI tests.

Squish and all the tests created with it, are completely cross-platform, and work on Windows, Linux/Unix, Mac OS X, and embedded Linux.

Squish is being successfully used in QA departments across the world in hundreds of companies both large and small, including, for example, ARM, American Power Conversion, EADS, Ericsson, France Telecom Group, General Electric, Reuters Financial Software, Siemens, Synopsys and Xilinx.

Web App Allows People To Explore Eyewitness News Across Social Media Networks

Edinburgh, UK. San Francisco, US. (PRWEB) June 14, 2012

iWitness, a revolutionary new web application for the aggregation of eyewitness news from social media platforms, launches today. Developed by New Context in partnership with designers of the application, Adaptive Path, the free web app allows people to explore content from social media services such as Flickr and Twitter by time and place.

iWitness uses geolocation data shared by users to pinpoint the location where a post, photo, or video originated. It allows users to see content from a particular location in real time or by specifying a time range. It is expected that this will be particularly valuable during emergencies when people look to share eyewitness news across social media channels.

Designed to be easy to use by anyone, if a user knows when and where something happened or is happening, iWitness will show first-person photos, videos, and messages from people there on the spot, integrating diverse media types in one interface.

The web app was beta tested live during development by the news desks of five US national and regional newspapers. Reporters used iWitness in their daily reporting identifying what was useful, what was not and what else was needed. New Context worked closely with Adaptive Path to synthesize that feedback and incorporate it into the design, adding new features and shaping the final design.

“iWitness could be one of the most important tools during a breaking news event. Newsrooms are always turning to Twitter to find initial reports from the scene of breaking news and iWitness lets you find those key tweets and photos,” said Sona Patel, social media producer for The Seattle Times.

iWitness was designed and built with funding from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation after Adaptive Path submitted the idea for iWitness to the Knight News Challenge, an open competition for media innovation projects.

Adaptive Path brought New Context in to work on the project because of their track record in balancing the latest technologies with proven methodologies. New Context combines elements of extreme programming with behavior driven development to produce high quality, low defect output.

“New Context was an enormously valuable partner for us on this project,” said Jesse James Garrett, co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of Adaptive Path, and project lead for iWitness. “Their agile approach enabled us to quickly evolve the design of iWitness to best meet the needs of our users, and their technical savvy helped me realize my vision for the product.”

New Context developed iWitness as an open source application using Ember, a JavaScript framework. This agile development process rapidly produces functionality with a minimum of waste. Starting with a series of exercises New Context agreed the domain language, key concepts and features before turning the requirements into a discrete set of user stories. Each user story representing a distinct requirement that could be understood or developed in isolation.

Mike Doel of New Context explains: This has been a fascinating project to work on and we are very excited to see how it will start to influence the news agendas and news reporting. By using agile methods we have been able to work closely with Adaptive Path and the end user to ensure that iWitness does exactly what they need it to do.

These agile methods follow short bursts of work that allow for rapid feedback and evaluation. Developing in two week cycles or iterations at the end of the cycle New Context review the stories developed during the iteration before getting sign off from Adaptive Path.

New Context is an agile company specializing in rapid sustainable development of mobile and web applications. Since launch, New Context has specialized in the development of mobile and web applications for both startups and Fortune 500 companies.

Adaptive Path was one of the first design firms focused on user experience and over ten years has worked at the frontier of UX design, working with hundreds of organizations to define experiences for new products and services, strategically evolve existing ones and integrate experiences across channels. Drawn to complex ambiguous challenges that defy known approaches and best practices.

JWT Presents Junior Worldmakers: What Three Kids Can Teach Us About Creativity, Business And Imagination

New York, NY (PRWEB) June 18, 2012

Today, at the 2012 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, JWT will host Junior Worldmakers, a seminar that will highlight the imagination and freethinking of fearless and creative kids who are already making their mark on the world and the lessons adults can take away from them.

Jordan Casey, age 12, is among the youngest app designers in Europe. Adora Svitak, age 14, started writing stories at age 4. And a third, Caine Monroy, age 9, has garnered worldwide attention with the creation of his handcrafted cardboard game arcade. Monroy will be the youngest person to speak at Cannes in the history of the festival.

We all were born creative. But through the process of growing up, we lose our unfiltered imagination and the fearlessness that make us kids, said Jeff Benjamin, JWT’s chief creative officer for North America and the host of the seminar. Caine, Jordan and Adora have made their mark on the world. And theres a lot we can learn from them about creativity and business. I cant wait to be upstaged by a group of kids.

It was not until Nirvan Mullick, an LA filmmaker who happened to stumble upon Caine’s cardboard arcade when he tried to buy a car handle for his ’96 Corolla from Caine’s dad’s store, that Caine got his first customer. Touched by the experience, Nirvan created the documentary Caines Arcade, illustrating Caines journey and the passion Caine had on making his dream a reality. Kinetic Data Takes Process Automation to New Levels of Functionality with Latest Version Releases

ST. PAUL, Minn (PRWEB) June 18, 2012

Kinetic Data (kineticdata.com), a leading developer of Business Service Management (BSM) software that helps organizations automate task processing across the enterprise, has released new versions of its popular Kinetic Request (5.1) service request management solution and Kinetic Task (2.0) advanced automation engine software.

With the latest version releases, we continue to demonstrate our commitment to continually providing new strategies that maximize the flexibility of our products, said John Sundberg, president, Kinetic Data. The enhancements in these version releases provide new functionality that further enhances their automation processes for business service provisioning

The most significant enhancement to Kinetic Request version release 5.1 is the integration of Kinetic Bridging. A new strategy designed to maximize flexibility and speed the request fulfillment process, Kinetic Bridging simplifies data input and validation by providing immediate and direct accessno matter the locationto any corporate data.

By removing the data barriers that exist within most organizations, Kinetic Bridging simplifies and speeds enterprise-wide implementations, said Sundberg. Moreover, Kinetic Bridging dramatically reduces the risk of prolonged downtime often associated with the deployment of request management applications.

Another major addition to Kinetic Request 5.1 is Kinetic Bundles, a new display framework designed to organize specifications and simplify incorporating corporate branding standards, making implementations faster and easier. Additionally, changes to both JavaScript and Java Code provide significant performance improvements on both the client and server sides of the application.

Through Kinetic Task, IT and non-IT users are empowered to control tasks and approvals for service delivery processes. The latest Kinetic Task 2.0 release replaces previous Flash functionality with a new HTML5-based task builder, which is a move towards greater compatibility as more organizations and browsers embrace the new standard.

Release 2.0 also implements Task Pausing functionality, which further enables users to more precisely control tasks and approvals. Task Pausing gives software users the power to pause a task or tree without having to pause the entire automation engine. The Task Pausing functionality allows Kinetic Task to continue to function even if other enterprise systems are interrupted due to scheduled or unintended outages.

Additional improvements in the Kinetic Task 2.0 release include a new Distributed Task Engines design that offers complete flexibility and control over how to task engine resources are managed. The Distributed Task Engines allow for greater security control and performance management.

Learn the basics and extend your capabilities in designing websites with Packt's new book on jQuery

Birmingham, UK (PRWEB) June 19, 2012

Packt recently published jQuery for Designers: Beginners Guide book and e-book for web developers and designers. Written by Natalie MacLees, the founder of Purple Pen Productions this book is a easy step-by-step guide that shows everything needed to start improving a website by enhancing user experience and adding impressive effects and animations with jQuery.

jQuery is a cross-browser JavaScript library designed to simplify the client-side scripting of HTML. jQuery is free, open source software, designed to make it easier to navigate a document, select DOM elements, create animations, handle events, and develop Ajax applications. jQuery also provides capabilities for developers to create plug-ins on top of the JavaScript library. This enables developers to create abstractions for low-level interaction and animation, advanced effects and high-level, theme-able widgets. The modular approach to the jQuery library allows the creation of powerful dynamic web pages and web applications.

jQuery Beginners Guide offers approachable lessons for designers with little or no background in JavaScript. The book begins by introducing the jQuery library and a small and simple introduction to JavaScript. They can therefore step through a few simple tasks to get started using plugins to quickly and simply add complex effects with just a few lines of code.

One will learn how to develop common interface widgets and effects such as tabbed interfaces, custom tooltips, and custom scrollbars. Also creating an animated navigation menu and how to add simple AJAX effects to enhance theirr site’s experience. It concludes with interactive data grids which make sorting and searching data easy.

This beginners guide is apt for designers who have the basics of HTML and CSS, but want to extend their knowledge by learning to use JavaScript and jQuery. The book is out now and available from Packt in print and popular eBook formats. To read more about it and download a sample chapter, please visit the Packt web-page.

The book provides good assistance in building browsable photo galleries and animated slideshows and featuring the content in carousels and sliders, creating tabbed interfaces without plugins, customizing scrollbars that fit in the design, using AJAX to only load up the changing content area instead of the whole page and enhancing navigation of sites by using animations and custom tooltips.

Houston, TX (PRWEB) June 20, 2012

Coburn, who is also a Physician (who has delivered over 4,000 babies) and has pledged to serve to no more than two terms as a U.S. Senator, also discussed the importance of being a citizen-legislator as opposed to being a career politician.

Jarkesy asked Dr. Coburn about his newest book The Debt Bomb and the problem of careerism in elected officials. The Senator described careerism as the trend of career politicians[having] the default position to protect [their] political career rather than do what benefits the country. Dr. Coburn added that in order to fix the country, outsiders must be elected into office instead of career politicians.

The Senator explained that the government will actually get additional revenue by doing this. His second point was to save Social Security and save Medicare however he explains that this will take sacrifice from some citizens. Thirdly, he pointed out that America needs to take advantage of our natural resources. He stated that America could reduce dependency on foreign oil to 20% in the next 5 years as well as creating 1 million jobs. Jarkesy interjected his observation that America needs to take advantage of its coal supply because were exporting a very minute percentage of what we produce. Dr. Coburns final point is for America was to revive the American entrepreneurial spirit.

George Jarkesy agreed with Dr. Coburn stating that we as Americans can grow our way out of this mess if we have strong leadership in Washington. Web Developers in Short Supply as Hiring Demand Reaches New Highs

New York, NY (PRWEB) June 21, 2012

During May 2012, more than 100,000 job ads were seen online for retail sales professionals, according to WANTED Analytics (http://www.wantedanalytics.com), the leading source of real-time business intelligence for the talent marketplace. This hiring trend continues in spite of recent data from the US Census and the Monthly Retail Trade Survey showing slowing overall retail sales numbers in April and May. The number of job ads posted during May rose 9% compared to May of 2011 and 37% versus May of 2010, marking a new high in demand for Web Developers.

Web Developer jobs commonly require potential candidates to have experience and knowledge with various programming languages and web and software development skill sets. The tools, technologies, and other hard skills that are most often required in these job ads include:

1. JavaScript

2. Oracle Java

3. Hypertext markup language (HTML)

4. Structured query language (SQL)

5. Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)

6. Extensible markup language (XML)

7. Microsoft .NET Framework (.NET)

8. Website development

9. Software development

10. jQuery

The five metropolitan areas with the highest volume of online job ads for retail sales professionals were New York, Washington (DC), Los Angeles, Chicago, and San Francisco. While companies in New York placed the greatest volume of online job ads, with more than 10,000 during May, demand in NY actually declined 6% compared to May 2011. The highest year-over-year growth in demand of these five cities was Chicago, which grew 12% versus the same month period in 2011.

Nationwide, companies are likely to find Web Developers as hard-to-recruit, due to increasing demand for a limited talent pool. The degree of difficulty that Recruiters experience will vary by location. According to the Hiring Scale, Recruiters in Washington, DC are currently experiencing some of the heaviest competition to attract qualified technology professionals and are likely to experience a longer time-to-fill than most other areas across the United States. In fact, the average posting period of a retail sales job ad in Washington, DC is more than 6.5 weeks. The Hiring Scale also shows that some of the locations with the best conditions for sourcing Web Developer professionals are currently Hagerstown (Maryland), Salem (Oregon), and Carson City (Nevada). These areas are likely to fill job openings faster than the rest of the United States. Online job ads in these areas are posted for as few as 3 weeks, less than half the time spent recruiting Web Developers in Washington, DC.

The Hiring Scale measures conditions in local job markets by comparing hiring demand and labor supply. The Hiring Scale is part of the WANTED Analytics platform that offers business intelligence for the talent marketplace.

New Strain of Zeus Malware Puts Social Media, Financial Services, Retail, and Payment Processer Industries at High Risk for Cybercrime

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) June 26, 2012

ThreatMetrix, the fastest-growing provider of integrated cybercrime prevention solutions, announced today the release of its latest ThreatMetrix Labs report, Zeus P2P Advancements and MitB Attack Vectors. In April 2012, ThreatMetrix Labs came across a new variant of the peer-to-peer (P2P) version of the notorious Zeus Trojan. The latest report examines the sample and specific attack targets of this new variant.

ThreatMetrix Labs develops in-depth reports on the latest capabilities of malware that targets financial institutions, merchants and online businesses. The information gained from the report enables enterprises, financial institutions, credit unions, payment providers, government agencies, and security professionals to stay abreast of current and emerging online security threats.

One of the main changes to this new Zeus variant is the way it encrypts its configuration file which make all automatic detection routines fail to recognize the Trojan.

Todays cybercriminals are rapidly evolving to surpass some of the most advanced malware and cybercrime automatic detection routines, said Andreas Baumhof, chief technology officer, ThreatMetrix. The latest Zeus variant catches victims off-guard by waiting to attack until after a websites login page appears to be functioning normally. After the victim logs in, the Zeus Trojan attempts to steal confidential information.

For the July 2012 ThreatMetrix Labs report, four specific cases of Zeus attacks were analyzed across a variety of industries, including social media, financial services, retail, and payment processors. Most of these cases involve minor but sophisticated changes to the website designed to steal confidential information. These changes are often unsusceptible, even to professionals.

Social Media Networks: Facebook and Gmail

Recently, social media platforms have shown increasing sophistication in monetizing their sites. Cybercriminals are seizing this opportunity to steal personal and financial information from registered users. They will initially see a normal login page, but once the username and password are entered, fraudulent pages appear asking for user credit card information. Common scams include:

Linking ones debit card to their Facebook account, to transfer Facebook credits with ease

Earn 20 percent cash back by linking ones debit card with Facebook

Join the brand new processing system created jointly with Verified by Visa, MasterCard SecureCode and Google Checkout.

Linking ones debit card with a Google account, in order to shop safely and securely at more than 3,000 stores online.

Financial Services: Major Credit Card Companies and Financial Institutions

The Zeus Trojan targets all major credit card company websites upon customer login. After a victim logs in, an intermediate page will appear, tricking the victim into disclosing personal and credit card information to the alleged fraudsters. A similar scenario exists after the login page and targets major financial institutions globally, especially those in the United Kingdom, U.S., Canada, Middle East, Italy, Germany, and Australia.

Another attack on financial institutions that is featured in the report targets Italian banks. In this case, a malicious JavaScript is used to adjust account balances so victims are unaware money has been stolen from their accounts. The script can also disable functionality in the banking application, preventing users access to pages that would show their account has been compromised.

Retail: Major Department Stores

Online retailers are also a target for this new variant of the Zeus Trojan, with fraudsters attempting to steal customer information at the time of checkout. In an example analyzed by ThreatMetrix Labs, Zeus targets a major department store. In this instance, a pop-up window asks for the users loyalty card information at checkout, stating, The card number you entered does not match our records. Please verify and make sure you re-enter the card information correctly. Most consumers are unaware that the pop-up window is the result of cybercrime, and will proceed to re-enter the loyalty card information.

Electronic Payments: Online Payment Processors

The final industry analyzed by the latest ThreatMetrix Labs report is online payment processors. Much like the previous retail example, a pop-up window is shown asking to verify credit card information, this time during user login. The Zeus Trojan detects the users name and the pop-up window looks completely legitimate, stating Hello, (name). In order to carry out higher security standards with our customers, we carry out selective personal information verification. The user then enters credit card information and the fraudsters go so far as to verify on the next page that the information is correct. Once the information is entered, it is sent to a command and control (C&C) center, where cybercriminals compile all stolen data.

What puts social media websites, financial institutions, online retailers, and payment processers at such high risk with this particular variant of the Zeus Trojan is that all of the fraudulent pages and windows described in the report appear legitimate to most users, said Baumhof. Pages include the branding and messaging typical to each of the industries the cybercriminals are targeting. They are even personalized with the victims name. To protect users and customers, all of these industries must realize how sophisticated todays cybercriminals are and take proper steps to prevent these attacks.

A&I Solutions would like to announce the Employee of the Week, Tim Higgins. Tim is a Senior Architect on the A&I Service Assurance Team.

(PRWEB) June 27, 2012

Throughout the years, Tim Higgins has worked in various locations across North America assisting customers to install, configure, and operate purchased software. As a senior consultant for A&I Solutions, his responsibilities cover those areas as well as a wide range of activities. For example, Tim works closely with A&I customers by mentoring personnel and providing knowledge transfer. Also, he implements triage, diagnosis, and root cause analysis of application performance problems and architecture of monitoring infrastructure in the client environment.

Tim explains, Since working with A&I Solutions I have learned more about technology than I thought I could ever learn. Every client is different, every task is different and every situation is different; so when there is an issue it is never the same and you have to work to figure it out. The team at A&I are some of the best and brightest teammates I have ever worked with. Everyone is a great team player. Anyone is ready to assist the next with any situation. Although the focus of his consulting was Java/J2EE and .NET application performance management, he is highly proficient in Weblogic/WebSphere/IBoss Application Servers, Database (Microsoft SQL/Oracle), Scripting (JavaScript, Bash, VB/Power Script, WMI), and many other technologies.

As an A&I employee, Tim has worked for several companies throughout the past two years. Those include Disney, Coach, Verizon, Arizona Department of Economic Defense, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), SeaWorld, Fidelity Investments, First Citizens Bank, Nascar, General Electric (GE), Harris, Liberty Mutual, Purdue, N-DEx, and many more. He has accomplished many tasks and has done impeccable work for these companies.

In August, Tim will be celebrating his two year anniversary with A&I Solutions. He has been an added benefit to the company and we appreciate the time and effort he has put into his work on the Service Assurance Team. Tim has created new opportunities for our organization and has been an active part in the success of A&I Solutions.

Success Story:

It was great working with Verizon, because of all the knowledge that I learned in such a short period. I went in planning to do a simple install of the APM architect and a few agents to monitor their application. In no time we ran into issues. The 1st issue was a bug we found in the .NET agent after working on it all night, it was really about 6 am the following day when we got it resolved. Before our findings, I worked with a team of experts for about 3 weeks, pushing long and hard hours trying to resolve a resource issue.

We got it working and I moved on to my next project which we finished early to find out that Verizon needed me back for another issue. This time our agent was pushing their servers over the 95% resource mark. Basically, with our agent the application was still putting them over 95% of memory on their production servers. This time it took 3 days for us to see that it wasnt our agent. Their application was running at 85% 90% without our agent. Our agent would put 1% of overheard per process adding 10% to what they already had. In a normal application adding 10% isnt a big difference but with an application already pushing the limits, that is a lot. The last few days we spent helping the client trim down their application by looking at some simple best practices and simple ideas.

That was a great experience because not only were we able to debug CA but we were able to assist the client with other issues as well.

Recommendation:

I had a great experience working with Tim on the initial rollout of the CA Introscope for my current company. Even with the long hours, demanding requirements, and stressful time crunch, Tim helped make the experience better with his technical counsel and positive attitude.

Learn How to Program Mobile Apps in a Month

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 28, 2012

Careers in software development on mobile devices is and is expected to be one of the most highly demanded and highly paying occupations in the years to come, but getting started is a really giant hurdle to overcome for a complete beginner.

The problems are that the software development tools are nearly impossible to learn (or even install) through self-teaching, and most computer training classes intimidate students with information overload. Software development is certainly an enormously vast field, with its nasty seven-syllable words and countless confusing acronyms. Developers dont often make good teachers because they have a tough time unlearning what they know in order to relate to a rookies limited understanding.

When a carpenter teaches a pupil the trade, its not necessary to teach about the breeds and qualities of every type of wood in the world, or the purpose and techniques of using every tool. Pupils dont need to memorize all of the technical jargon and mumbo-jumbo specific to the industry. Instead, a master carpenter simply begins by showing the apprentice how to build a table. All of the details and background knowledge come in time from the experience of doing. Creating mobile apps is a craft just like any other.

On The GoWAREs new FastTrack course is designed specifically for the person who has never written nor perhaps even seen a computer program. Using development tools that work with both Apples iOS and Googles Android devices, students learn how to make apps for both platforms at the same time using JavaScript the most widely-used programming language in the world today. The classes are held online by a live instructor who can answer questions, and students tune in remotely from their home computers. By attending class on one Sunday each week for four weeks (and doing the homework of course) students can begin making their own apps within a month of training.

Mike Newman, CEO of On The GoWARE, commented that learning mobile development is a lot like learning to ride a bike. The total beginner requires lots and lots of hand-holding, not to mention encouragement when they fall and get frustrated. By the time they finish our FastTrack training course they are still wobbly but theyre riding on their own and then can get better and better. Were getting folks going in less than a month and for less than $ 1,000.

Naturally the technology industry is changing all the time, and a developer can always keep improving their skills, which is why On The GoWARE offers many continuing education paths for their students, including their mobile software development certification – the coveted MDICD (Mobile Development Institute Certified Developer) credential.

Agency Trading Desk Varick Media Management Releases Homegrown Data Management Platform

New York, NY (PRWEB) June 28, 2012

Varick Media Management (VMM) has released its Data Management Platform (DMP) to drive audience analysis and insights for online advertising campaigns. Dubbed The Lens, the DMP enables VMMs skilled group of engineers and analysts to collect and sync first-party user data with third-party data segments for audience definition and high-level analysis.

The words Data Management Platform are thrown around a lot in the ad-tech space, yet theres little transparency into what a DMP really is, says Paul Rostkowski, President of VMM. Our DMP consists of the following: a centralized point for data syncing; a tool for audience analysis and insights; and the group of experts we employ to make sense of the vast amounts of data we see while providing full transparency to the client.

After failing to find an adequate data management tool available for purchase or rent, VMM decided to build its own DMP. Managing data in any business includes engineers who collect the data, and data scientists who know how to parse through it. Building our own Data Management Platform from scratch has given us a level of understanding a purchased product couldnt afford, both for our knowledge of the inner workings of our industry, as well as our buying techniques, said Keith Gooberman, VMMs Director of Yield Operations, Data, and Analytics. VMMs DMP is currently hosted by Amazon Web Services.

The Lens leverages a proprietary pixel server to tag and identify users site-side with audience cookies. Its pixel server is secure and scalable to 40,000 queries per second (QPSs), meaning that Goobermans team can ID a user before his or her webpage finishes loading.

The pixel server uses JavaScript to make external calls to third-party data sources via all of the major data exchanges, including Brilig and CrossPixel. A syncing process allows for The Lens to verify third-party data segments by finding the intersection between its own data and data collected by third parties. The DMP can then determine the segments a user falls into, and use those segments for campaign optimization, as well as providing the advertiser insight into its audience.

The Varick Insights Platform (VIP) is a capability of The Lens that functions as an audience planning and discovery tool. VIP can analyze data in real-time and helps marketers optimize their creative before, during, and after campaigns to increase a brands relevancy to its targeted audience.

Rostkowski insists that the DMPs technological capabilities are supplementary to VMMs human capital.

The speed at which we can validate audience data, glean actionable insights, and make real-time decisions is supported by our built-from-scratch technology, says Rostkowski, but the real value lies in our yield optimization and data analysis team. This group has the expertise required to turn data into lucrative marketing strategies.

About Varick Media Management

Varick Media Management (VMM) was born out of MDC Partners in 2008 as the first data-driven trading desk for agencies and brands. VMMs skilled human capital leverages granular audience insights and real-time bidding through a multi-bid tech approach to drive outcomes.

Aitech's New Modular Remote Digital Processing Platform Easily Integrates System-specific Functionality

Chatsworth, Calif. (PRWEB) December 19, 2012

Aitech Defense Systems Inc., a pioneer in true embedded and mission critical computing technologies for environmentally-demanding defense, aerospace, space and rugged industrial applications, now offers the RIO-NG, a modular digital processing platform that can be easily customized for a variety of high-reliability military, industrial and space applications that require ultra-low power and a compact form factor.

The new Freescale Cortex M4 ARM-based RIO-NG is designed using distributed processing and parallel task completion principles, which are implemented through multiple concurrent DMA channels. Coupled with the highly parallel system-on-chip peripherals, the high efficiency CPU core is only slightly loaded by the data moving processes. Therefore, the effective MIPS available to the user application are greatly increased as opposed to a system with fewer internal DMA resources.

The efficient CPU core allows the clock rate to run much lower and still provide the performance of a much larger CPU in a higher power system. This leaves the processor free to run algorithms or to compute and process the incoming datacritical tasks in tight control loop, embedded systems.

The RIO-NG uses a common digital processing platform (CDPP) that provides standard functionality to handle all aspects of data acquisition. Personality Modules (PM) can be added to manage such process control functions as A/D and D/A conversion, RTD sensors and LVDT drives and high current interfaces. The PMs can also manage servo amp, motor and mechanism drives, providing custom, system-specific analog and digital interfaces.

These standard PMs are easily stacked onto the CDPP base processor platform which cost-effectively enables the CDPP to interface with all systems for overall ease of use and integration.

Philippe Kassouf, CTO for Aitech Defense Systems, noted: The modularity and low power of the new RIO-NG enables designers to develop very creative, high reliability platforms by distributing compact embedded technologies out closer to the sensors and effectors where they couldnt before. The ability to mix and match the CDPP with the various personality modules opens up an almost limitless array of application possibilities.

The RIO-NG employs Freescales exceptional series of ARM 120 MHz Cortex M4 CPU, which draws less than 300 mW of power while supporting up to 128 digital channels and a variety of built-in digital bus and analog interfaces for increased system integration and optimized system performance. Standard interfaces include 10/100 Base-T Ethernet with a Power over Ethernet (POE) option RS422 serial ports, LVDS, CANbus and USB.

With a 64-channel analog A/D input personality module and sensor excitation circuitry, the entire RIO-NG draws less than 5 W. Dimensions of this example are approximately 4.5 (L) x 3.3 (W) x 4.5 (H), with the CDPP comparable to the size of a credit card, and the entire system weighing less than 3 lbs with MIL-DTL 38999 connectors.

The rugged chassis construction protects the highly-integrated electronics inside the unit against shock and vibration up to 40 G RMS at 11 mS (Crash Safety).

RIO-NG units designed and built with space-qualified, EEE parts are currently scheduled for radiation-tolerance testing and heavy ion Proton characterization up to 200 MeV. Target values are currently 35 kRAD for low earth orbit and 100 kRAD for geostationary earth orbit, with less than one SEU in five years for both. Internal conduction-cooling is complemented by external conduction, radiation or free air-cooling.

System complexity can be further enhanced via an optional Power over Ethernet module that replaces the internal voltage/power conversion circuits and greatly reduces the power input EMI filter for smaller, lighter and lower power SwaP applications.

The RIO-NG provides over 1 MB of built-in on-chip Flash memory and 512 kB of on-chip RAM, both running at the microprocessor clock rate, allowing high-speed access to program data and optimizes the DMA channels. Interfaces to external Flash and DRAM provide much larger executable code and user data space.

MyAjaxApp Gets Ready to Attend International Startup Festival in Montreal

Montreal, Quebec (PRWEB) July 09, 2012

MyAjaxApp is preparing to attend the International Startup Festival, July 11th to July 13th in the Old Port of Montreal. This event brings together industry veterans, creative thinkers, experienced entrepreneurs and technologists from around the world, and is all about the business of startups.

The theme of this years Startup Festival is Startups that Matter. This theme matches well with MyAjaxApp goals, because we think we matter a great deal to the future development of the Internet. Web browsers and front-end techniques have grown-up, and we think it is time for the entire server-side (servers, database, and back-end code) to grow-up as well, says Jerry Visser, founder of MyAjaxApp. Were excited to network, discuss and share our service with the world at the Startup Festival.

MyAjaxApp provides a platform for web development that no longer requires the developer to setup servers, databases, or write server-side code. This Internet application platform allows developers to spend 100% of their time in the front-end of development using jQuery, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript to build full-featured web applications, or SaaS offerings. The entire back-end database orchestration and collection is offered as a service.

The MyAjaxApp service helps a web developer organize application content for and from the application users. Peggy Palms Attends Real Estate Investing Syndication Mastermind

Boone, North Carolina (PRWEB) December 19, 2012

Peggy Palms, nationally known attorney, author, real estate broker and investing consultant, attended the new Real Estate Investing Syndication Mastermind in late November, held on the San Antonio Riverwalk. With over 25 years of experience in short sales, bankruptcy, foreclosure and distressed property sales, Peggy Palms will be one of the highlighted guests at the Real Estate Syndication Mastermind. More information can be obtained by going to http://www.peggypalms.com.

As real estate investors adapt to the changes brought on by the housing crisis, Peggy Palms and other attorneys, brokers and CCIM designates specializing in group real estate investing help their investor clients navigate through the confusing legal regulations now in effect.

New Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations related to group real estate investing were the primary topic covered at the Mastermind, including changes in coming soon that will have a significant effect on the way real estate syndicators conduct business.

Peggy Palms and other professionals explored the concept of group sponsorship and analyzed how the new SEC regulations will affect raising capital for commercial real estate through syndication pools. Raising money through multiple investors under the direction of a group sponsor allows real estate acquisitions of larger value and profit margins.

Drafting techniques that help investors to understand an effective Private Placement offering and Private Placement Memorandum were also included at the Mastermind symposium. Another topic of focus was compliance with SEC Regulation D.

Bank and seller financing for commercial and multifamily projects are easier to obtain for a group fund studied at the Real Estate Syndication Mastermind. With help from attorneys like Peggy Palms, a group could leverage credit worthiness of specific group members and pool funds for larger down payments.

The Peggy Palms & Associates law firm focuses in helping high net worth individuals and groups to facilitate these transactions.

A person or sponsor interested in learning how to qualify for an investment group should always consult professional legal help with SEC regulations to avoid legal problems. Attendees like Peggy Palms have the latest information and tools needed.

MoSync Announces Support for In-App Purchases, Extensive Windows Phone 7 Support and Debugging of HTML5/JavaScript Apps in New Versions of Its Developer Tools

Stockholm, Sweden (PRWEB) July 11, 2012

Stockholm, Sweden, July 11, 2012 MoSync SDK 3.1 (available for download at http://www.mosync.com/sdk) has new functionality for managing in-app purchases one of the most proven business models for developers to monetize their applications on Android and iOS. The SDK also boasts extensive support for Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 platform, enabling developers to use MoSyncs core libraries and application programming interfaces (APIs) to build native apps for Windows Phone 7 and providing web developers with access to the unique user experience offered by Windows Phone’s Metro UI (user interface) system.

MoSync Reload Beta 4 (available for download at http://www.mosync.com/reload), the rapid development tool for native mobile app development using standard web technologies, provides functionality for debugging HTML5/JavaScript apps in the Reload environment.

Our extensive support for Windows Phone 7 means that developers now have at their disposal what they need to enter the nascent Windows Phone ecosystem, and add value to existing apps they’ve developed for iOS and Android, says Anders Malm, Technical Director, MoSync. He continues, With the new debugging features of HTML5/JavaScript apps in Reload, we make it viable to do more serious, professional software development using web technologies.

More details for developers are available below.

Mosync SDK 3.1

The MoSync SDK enables mobile developers to build and compile apps for up to nine different platforms at once, using C/C++ or HTML5/JavaScript, or a combination of both. MoSync has consolidated its support for Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 platform which means that all of the powerful C++ libraries in MoSync work automatically in applications built for Windows Phone 7 devices. In addition, MoSync has extended its NativeUI C++ Library with support for several new widgets.

Support for in-app purchases is available as native features in the Android and iOS platforms. With MoSync SDK 3.1, MoSync has introduced a new C++ library and C API for managing in-app purchases for both Android and iOS using the same code base. MoSync’s new Purchase C API and its C++ Library wrapper makes it easy for developers to enable app users to make in-app purchases, let them view purchase and refund histories, and to track each user’s transaction status.

New User Guides and Tutorials for this SDK release include an overview of the Purchase Library and API and a new tutorial (“Managing In-App Purchases”) highlighting the steps needed to implement in-app purchasing within your application.

MoSync Reload Beta 4

With MoSync Reload, web developers can easily create native mobile applications using familiar HTML5/JavaScript technologies, and see the effect of the changes instantly on multiple devices, comfortably developing on their desktop platform of choice.

In Reload Beta 4, MoSync introduces new functionality for debugging of HTML5/JavaScript apps, including a new remote logging feature across iOS, Android and Windows Phone 7, which means you can instantly view all logs from your HTML5 and JavaScript code directly in the Reload server interface. In addition, MoSync has added JavaScript On-Device Debugging support on the iOS simulator in MoSync Reload, which enables iOS app developers to access and debug their JavaScript code using the Safari Web Inspector. This debugger has full debugging capabilities; developers can use breakpoints throughout their code and dynamically change elements in the Document Object Model (DOM) and see the result of their changes directly on the simulator even without reloading the app.

New User Guides and Tutorials available for MoSync Reload include Installing MoSync Reload, Debugging JavaScript with rlog, Debugging HML5/JavaScript on OS X and Reading Sensors from JavaScript.

Chatty Solutions Announces Key Upgrade for Mobile Application Development Platform

Raleigh, NC (PRWEB) July 11, 2012

Chatty Solutions today announced a key product upgrade for the fastest mobile application development platform for the development and deployment of mobile apps for the Apple iOS, Google Android and Windows Phone. Only six months after introducing the innovative Chatty Apps v3.1 rapid app development platform, the new v3.2 release adds 10 significant product enhancements that leverage the powerful underlying architecture and further accelerate mobile application development by leveraging technologies such as HTML5.

CEO and Founder Rashid Khan, a software entrepreneur with two successful start-ups under his belt, explains the company vision. Chatty Solutions strategic vision is to become the premier code-free platform for developing and deploying front ends for existing forms and data-centric business applications working without friction across all major mobile platforms. Khan highlights the key advances of the new release, The new version 3.2 is loaded with customer-driven features and capabilities that make it faster and easier for power users and developers. It exemplifies our determination to pursue our goals as aggressively as possible without compromising the security, stability, usability and performance of the Chatty Apps cloud platform.

Chatty Apps provides significant value by making traditional applications mobile-enabled at a time when people are increasingly demanding access and use of applications through their mobile devices. The July 2 comScore report indicates that 234 million Americans are now using mobile devices with the smart phone market share divided up with Google Android at 51%, Apple iPhone at 32% and Microsoft at 4%. As mobile usage increases more users are accessing business and productivity applications that include a mobile form along with steps that are part of a workflow or business process. As a result, software manufacturers are faced with the challenge of how to best mobile-enable their software applications. That is exactly the problem that Chatty Apps is focused on solving.

JDH Corrosion Consultants, Inc. provides an excellent example of how the new Chatty Apps v3.2 helped them speed up mobile app development. According to Mr. Mohammad Ali, Vice President and Principal, Chatty Solutions developed an app that provides mobile user interface for 10 commonly used engineering calculations performed in Google spreadsheet. We are impressed with the speed with which the app was developed without any programming/scripting, the ease with which it can be changed, and the fact that we could use Google spreadsheet sitting in the cloud to do the calculations without having to share the spreadsheet with anyone else.

In this typical implementation Chatty Apps asks the user for inputs for a complex calculation, uploads the inputs into the Google spreadsheet via Web Services, the spreadsheet does a recalculation, and Chatty Apps downloads the results and presents them in the mobile device. If user has to change a calculation, they can simply change the formulas in the spreadsheet. This is the future of mobile apps which will leverage thousands of existing and proven back office applications residing behind the firewall and part of the existing IT ecosystem that has evolved over the past few decades. Chatty Apps simply extends the user interface of the apps over a secure network to all types of mobile devices.

The Top Ten enhancements in Chatty Apps v3.2 are:

1) Flexible Grid Table Layouts a new grid-table layout can be used to quickly create rich user interfaces, making it fast and easy to create a mobile form and add controls and adjust rows, columns, borders and colors.

2) Powerful HTML5 Edit Box Controls the power and flexibility of HTML5 means many different types of input such as Email, Date, Time, and Telephone can be accepted without the need for using JavaScript

3) Reusable HTML Keywords, JavaScript and JavaScript Library v3.2 increases the ability to reuse existing code or scripts by saving them in a library as reuseable components and then using them throughout one or more applications.

4) CSS Library rich support for Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) enables a CSS to be saved to the library and inserted into a user interface that applies a common style or theme to multiple different user interfaces. This significantly reduces the development time and provides consistency and reuse of design

5) Integrated Debugger developers can easily see the values of key variables in a watch windows, and find out how they impact the flow of the application. They can also evaluate Chat Rules and see how Chat Actions behave. These capabilities greatly speed the development process.

6) Integrity Checker a new Integrity Checker tests to ensure that a Chatty App will run when deployed and will not break because of missing resources such as links or other parameters essential to the logic and flow of the application.

7) Enhanced REST Web Services Support using an intuitive UI ensures that a Chatty App can be used easily with any REST Web Service and JSON

8) Advanced Administrator User Interface the Chatty Apps Administrator has a greatly improved and intuitive interface based on user feedback.

9) Drag and Drop Creation of Objects greatly simplified and optimized keystroke sequences enable object and flows to be quickly and easily created.

10) Fast Editing of Labels inline editing makes it very fast to insert or make changes to labels in user interfaces, accelerating the development process.

The improvements released in Chatty Apps v3.2 reflect the companys commitment to continuous improvement based on listening to the user community. Hundreds of comments, suggestions and ideas from the user community helped drive the development of the new release. The six month product cycle demonstrates a rapid development cycle and the product is fully backwards compatible, reliable and scalable. See a video of Chatty Apps.
