IDEAlliance (http://www.idealliance.org), an established industry organization that develops, educates and validates best practices in publishing and information technology, announced today the keynote speakers for XTech 2006 (http://www.xtech-conference.org/), the premier European conference for developers and managers working with XML and web technologies. Industry leaders will present keynotes on topics including new and emerging web services for developers, building software with human intelligence, and current web technologies. Mozilla Corporation and W3C are co-hosts for XTech 2006, and current sponsors of the event include Justsystem, IBM and Adobe. XTech 2006 will be held May 16-19 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Keynote speakers and their topics confirmed for this years conference include:
– Yahoo! Developer Network lead, Jeffrey McManus, discussing the Webs movement to a participatory, user-centric model based on user-generated content, social networks and two-way conversations. The presentation will show new and emerging services that will transform the platform for developers.
– Amazon’s web services evangelist, Jeff Barr, focusing on building software with human intelligence, and what Amazon Mechanical Turk can do for you and your customers.
– Mozilla Corporations CTO, Brendan Eich, presenting on JavaScript 2 and the future of the web.
– Industry-leading essayist and developer, Paul Graham, discussing his work on a new programming language and its impact on future web development.
This years keynotes follow in XTechs tradition of inspiring, challenging and informing, said Edd Dumbill, XTech 2006 conference chair. As we learn about cutting-edge initiatives from Amazon and Yahoo!, we will discover the future in the new models they present for web applications. The theme for this years conference Building Web 2.0 recognizes the key role of standards-based and open technology in enabling the next generation of web applications. This years tracks include applications, browser technology, core technologies and open data with presentations on topics such as Rails, Semantic Web, AJAX, XQuery, and network security.
