RemObjects Software Updates Data Abstract Product to Add JavaScript Based Business Rule Scripting

Hanover Park, IL (PRWEB) June 30, 2011

Developer tools provider RemObjects Software is helping software developers build better applications more easily with the employment of JavaScript in the Business Rules Scripting feature for Data Abstract. Data Abstract is the premier framework for building cross-platform multi-tier database solutions, and the implementation of JavaScript logic in its Business Rules Scripting improves flexibility and scalability.

The use of JavaScript improves data validation on both the client and the server side. On the client side the update speeds up input validation for fast user feedback and on the server side it provides security to protect data. The Business Rules Scripting feature enables users to quickly update business logic, eliminating the need to recompile or redeploy clients or servers. Business Rules Scripting allows scripts to work with and validate data while the Data Abstract infrastructure is processing it. A series of event handlers enable users to hook into the data access and data modification processes. The JavaScript class library allows users to work with requests and changes. On the server-side this supports querying and modifying secondary data in addition to the data requested or updated.

Some scripts may be shared between clients and servers, eliminating the need to maintain the same rules in two places. Users can employ a simple check-box option in the New Project wizards to add scripting support to Data Abstract applications, and scripting support is an integrated part of Relativity Server. “I think we’ve released some cool new stuff for developers, with these new Business Rules Scripting feature in Data Abstract. We hope developers like the new features, and we look forward to feedback on this enhancement,” said marc hoffman, Chief Architect at RemObjects Software.

The company’s website provides a virtual library of resources for software developers, users can watch new screen casts on RemObjects TV to get in-depth tutorials for products, or subscribe to their RemObjects Radio podcast for regular updates from the development team and discussions about RemObjects technologies.

SalesBump Helps SeatArmour Increase Conversion Rates by 131% by Showing Real Time Offers to Visitors as They Browse

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 30, 2011

Effective immediately, SalesBumps (http://www.salesbump.com) offer management platform has helped SeatArmour.com show increases in conversion rates while giving customers real time discounts during shopping sessions.

We know the tight economy is affecting our customers, and we wanted to give them extra incentives to make the buying decision easier, said David Lalji, CEO of SeatArmour.com. Not only will they save when shopping on our site, but they dont have to worry about coupon hunting because we show them real time offers on the pages they visit most often.

SeatArmour is using a real-time offer platform from SalesBump.com. With SalesBump, they were able to increase conversion rates by quickly creating different offers and place them on their top landing and exit pages without having to go through the time-consuming and costly process of site redesign. The success came from a combination of offers: a personalized video offer on a product page, a free shipping custom offer code on their home page, and connections to Twitter and Facebook to allow shoppers to share deals with their friends.

With sites spending so much on SEO and SEM and average conversion rates hovering around 3%, we are excited that SalesBump can show tangible benefits to ecommerce sites as well as customers said Etesh Mangray, CEO of SalesBump.

The trial that produced these results ran from March 26 April 21st 2011 with customer statistics measured prior to using SalesBump and after the trial. Approximately 53% of shoppers used the discounts during the checkout process.

About SalesBump.com

Sitepoint Launches New How-To Guide: Build Mobile Websites and Apps For Smart Devices

(PRWEB) June 30, 2011

Mobile websites have been described as the most exciting development in computing since the Internet began. With the release of the how-to guide Build Mobile Websites and Apps For Smart Devices, specialist publisher, Sitepoint, has satisfied the need for developers to learn how to create mobile websites and mobile apps.

The fact that the market for mobile websites is growing is irrefutable. Hundreds of millions of people around the world now access the internet via smart devices, a trend that is confirmed in recent research results published by mobithinking:

A conservative estimate shows China to have 277 million mobile web users
In the three months to October 2010, 60.7 million people in the US alone owned smart devices, a figure that is forecasted to hit over 120 million by end-2011.
A growing number of mobile web users are mobile-only: Egypt 70%, India 59% – even in the US the figure is 25% – they dont even own a desktop or laptop!

Build Mobile Websites and Apps For Smart Devices

In launching Build Mobile Websites and Apps For Smart Devices Mark Harbottle, SitePoints Co-Founder said that learning to design for the future was a constant challenge for web developers and designers.

Designing effective mobile interfaces and knowing how to get the most out of every device is imperative if designers are to profit from the trend to mobile internet use. said Mr Harbottle.

The mobile apps development business alone is in huge demand as Blackberry and Android try to keep pace with the burgeoning iOS app market – iPhone and iPad app development is, of course, already big business.

Mr Harbottle continued, Five billion apps were downloaded in 2010 – a massive leap from the 300 million in 2009.

The new guide has drawn upon the expertise of three specialists, Earle Castledine, Myles Eftos and Max Wheeler (see below), who have together covered the different strategies and techniques used in mobile websites and mobile apps development, including:

Design for Mobile
Markup for Mobile
Mobile Web Apps
Using Device Features From Web Apps
Introducing PhoneGap
Making Our Application Native

Tech-FAQ Uses Technology To Fight Censorship

Denver, Colorado (PRWEB) July 08, 2011

The Tech-FAQ is one of the Internet’s leading sources for technical information and help. The main mission of the Tech-FAQ is to improve the efficiency of computer users across the globe by providing them with immediate access to the knowledge necessary to resolve technical issues.

One of the common problems reported by Tech-FAQ visitors is trouble connecting to the open web from inside blocked networks. Nations such as Cuba, Red China, North Korea, Syria, Iran, Pakistan, and Burma filter their Internet connections to block visitors from seeing web sites which present a different world view than supported by their political leaders.

Internet users are able to get around these filters by using proxies. The user connects to the proxy site and the proxy site then connects to blocked the destination site, thus bypassing the filter. The filter operators are constantly adding new sites to the block list — including new proxy sites. Proxy sites may only be useful for a few days, or even a few hours, before they are found and blocked.

The solution is to continually create a stream of new proxies. Proxy operators do this every day and then they post their new creations to the Tech-FAQ proxy list. The staff of the Tech-FAQ use proprietary proxy checking scripts to test each proxy every day to ensure that they are operating properly.

Because the Tech-FAQ hosts this proxy list, the filter operators also block access to the Tech-FAQ itself. To work around this, the Tech-FAQ allows users to subscribe to the proxy list via email, monitor it via RSS, or follow the ProxyBlast feed on Twitter. MemeBridge also allows other webmasters to install a small JavaScript on their websites to display recent proxies from the Tech-FAQ proxy list. This effectively allows anyone on the web to publish a proxy list on their web site or blog.

MemeBridge is a company with a mission: Spread Good Ideas. A meme is the smallest unit of thought and the job of MemeBridge is to help carry good memes over obstacles. MemeBridge has extensive experience creating and managing web sites, including the Tech-FAQ, MightyGuide, and Expat Intelligence. MemeBridge web sites serve several million visitors per month and provide information and guidance for people from all over the globe.
