Canoo today announced that it has received Ready for WebSphere Studio validation (http://www7b.software.ibm.com/wsdd/downloads/plugin/) for ULC.
ULC now seamlessly integrates with WebSphere Studio to simplify the efficient development of rich client J2EE applications. It offers rich client GUI components with a server-side programming model, filling an essential gap in IBM’s impressive WebSphere server-side computing story. ULC enables the development of applications that mix and match HTML clients and rich clients, both sharing the same business objects and software infrastructure.
IBM awards Ready for WebSphere Studio validation to selected vendor solutions based on specific, clearly defined integration criteria.
“By validating ULC for IBM WebSphere Studio Application Developer, WebSphere customers can now develop rich clients based on the existing infrastructure and server-side programming model they have for their browser applications,” said Bruno Schaeffer, CTO, Canoo. “ULC rich clients execute on the server, except for a lean generic presentation engine. They share all advantages of HTML applications, while avoiding the disadvantages of JavaScript, Flash, “fat” applets, etc.”
Minimized network traffic, caching, and lazy loading ensure fast GUI response times. A small, generic, Java-based presentation engine handles the user interface on the client. Applications are deployed on the server only.
