Nashville, Tenn. (PRWEB) December 4, 2008
Dealerskins, a division of Dominion Enterprises and leader in automotive dealer web services, is celebrating an outstanding achievement from a member of its talented development team.
Steve “Cutter” Blades, senior web developer at Dealerskins, is a contributing author for a new book about building dynamic websites, Learning Ext JS.
“Cutter possesses a true passion for developing web applications and a vast skill-set in web development technologies to back up that passion,” said Aaron West, development manager at Dealerskins. “It’s been a pleasure to watch him grow from a talented web developer to a team leader, industry conference speaker, and now a contributing author for a book about leading Internet technology.”
Learning Ext JS, published by PackT Publishing, offers innovative ways of building web applications with Ext JS, creating interfaces that more closely mimic those of desktop applications while integrating web-available data and the “data anywhere” ability provided on the web.
The book includes plenty of screenshots as examples and is broken down into sections that make it easy to understand for any developers familiar with HTML and JavaScript.
The book’s publishers found Blades through his blog, Cutter’s Crossing, where he writes about all things technology, particularly about ColdFusion and Ext JS.
Blades had begun researching the new Ext JS technology when he discovered the Ext JS library would be included in the latest version of Adobe’s ColdFusion, which he had been talking about on his blog.
Blades’ love for technology began when he was learning BASIC as a kid. He began his career while he was serving in the U.S. Army and stationed with the National Security Agency. Since then, he’s sharpened his developing skills by working as a corporate support specialist for a regional ISP and as the IT director of Seacrets.
Now, he brings those past experiences and current connections to the Dealerskins table.
“All of the members of the Dealerskins development team are highly active within the global development community,” Cutter says about his coworkers. “Many of us maintain blogs about the various areas of development, some contribute to several different technology-related publications and a few of us have been asked to speak at a few national professional conferences.”
On top of staying involved in the technological community, Cutter and the rest of the crew are active members of the Nashville ColdFusion Users Group and many of them contribute to open source projects.
“We at Dealerskins are very fortunate to have some of the best technical talent in the country,” said Eric Brown, general manager at Dealerskins. “Cutter is at the top of that list.
About Dealerskins
Dealerskins provides beautiful, powerful, distinctive web solutions to automotive dealers. Our expertise comes from real-world dealership experience and a passion for listening and responding to our dealers’ needs. In fact, our founders designed, built and used the first Dealerskins website while working at a top-50 dealership group. They realized that automotive dealers require high-caliber, dynamic websites to meet car buyers’ needs. Dealerskins was founded in July of 2000 to serve those needs. Today, we’re bigger and better than ever, and still focused on helping dealers use their websites to sell more cars.
