FDAImports.com and JO Alvarez Team Completes Successful Week of FSMA Trainings in Mexico

Glen Burnie, MD (PRWEB) November 21, 2012

FDAImports.com Founder and CEO, Benjamin England, presented 2 half-day training sessions in Monterrey and Celaya, Mexico on compliance with the U.S. Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) for Mexican food producers and manufacturers. The training sessions, in conjunction with U.S. Customhouse Broker, J.O. Alvarez, Inc., outlined the most important and relevant FSMA provisions, the FDAs current implementation status, how to prepare for anticipated regulations followed by a lengthy and vigorous question and answer session.

The FSMA training sessions in Celaya and Monterrey were a huge success, said Alfonso Moreno, Director of Security and Compliance at JO Alvarez. Mexican manufacturers and exporters learned how the new FSMA law will affect them and about new requirements and responsibilities. Mr. England dispelled myths, rumors and misinformation with the hard facts and important interpretation of the Act.

The events attracted nearly 200 attendees from the Mexican food manufacturing sector with small, medium and large scale companies all represented. Mexican food manufacturers need clarity on FSMA compliance and FDA is simply not providing enough of it, said Benjamin England. Mexican food imports to the USA are expanding but so is the confusion surrounding how FSMA will impact the food manufacturing and importation landscape. Thats why we opened an office in Mexico City and thats why were investing in the Mexican Food Industry.
