Lombardi Java Experts Present at 2008 JavaOne Conference in San Francisco

Lombardi, a leader in business process management (BPM), today announced that three members of its product development team were selected to share their expertise and findings during two sessions at the upcoming JavaOne Conference. The four-day event will be held on May 6 – 9, 2008 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA.

“We’re pleased that three Lombardi speakers were selected to share their knowledge at JavaOne,” said Matt Howitt, vice president of product engineering at Lombardi. “Java is core to our BPM platform strategy and success, so it’s exciting to see that our developers are receiving recognition for the work they do every day.”

The first presentation is a conference Birds-of-a-Feather (BOF) session entitled “Real World, Not Hello World: GWT Development for Java Technology Shops,” and will be co-hosted by Alex Moffat, Engineering Manager at Lombardi, along with Luc Claes, CTO of ContactOffice. The session is scheduled for Tuesday, May 6 at 7:30 – 11:20 p.m. PDT. During the session, attendees will learn about best practices recommended for Google Web Toolkit (GWT) development, successful approaches to collaboration between UI designers and developers, techniques for measuring performance in production, as well as have the opportunity to share and discuss their experiences using GWT as well.

The second conference presentation, also a BOF session, is entitled “The JavaScript Programming Language for Enterprise Application Scripting: Five Years of Experience.” will be hosted by Olivier Modica, Engineering Manager, and Zack Roadhouse, Chief Engineer, Teamworks at Lombardi, on Wednesday, May 7 at 4:10 – 5:00 p.m. PDT. During the session, attendees will learn about some of the pitfalls of end-user scripting, advantages and disadvantages compared to other scripting languages, as well as memory management and error reporting and debugging.
