WebAssist Imports Sites into Dreamweaver

(PRWEB) April 20, 2005

WebAssist today announced the release of a new extension for Dreamweaver, WA Site Import. WA Site Import allows designers to import any site, or any portion of any site, from the Web right into Dreamweaver. This extension brings in all the requested Web pages in a site as well as any dependent files, including images, external CSS files, Flash movies, or JavaScript files. Once the site is locally available, designers can explore the design, layout and structure of the site whenever they want.

Since the early days of the Web, designers have sought to learn how to build better Web sites by viewing the source of a page online or saving a single page through their browsers. WA Site Import expands upon this time-honored practice and makes it much more efficient and complete. Once the extension is installed in Dreamweaver, designers can direct it to import any portion of any site – or the entire site – up to a 1,000 pages, in a single operation. When an entire site is retrieved, the site structure is preserved and can be easily viewed a page at a time or through Dreamweaver’s own site map feature.

WA Site Import works with all kinds of Web sites – including those developed with ASP, ColdFusion, PHP or even .NET. WA Site Import stores the browser representation of any dynamic page, re-writing file names and URLs to maintain links and site structure.

“WA Site Import is the ultimate answer to the question, ‘How’d they do that?’”, said Joseph Lowery, Director of Marketing for WebAssist. “It’s a fabulous learning tool for any designer who wants to sit at the feet of the industry giants and explore their creations inside and out.” Lowery went on to note that WA Site Import is especially useful for exploring the increasingly complex techniques of CSS. “Once you have both the HTML pages and the CSS immediately available to you, it’s far easier to understand the relationship between the two.”

WA Site Import works with Dreamweaver MX 2004 and Dreamweaver MX on both Windows and Macintosh platforms and is available directly from WebAssist for $ 99.99. For volume sales or more information call WebAssist +1 (760) 633-4013, extension 2.
