Wakanday is a conference dedicated to promoting JavaScript as the language of choice for enterprise Web applications. Wakanday 2011 will take place on October 15, 2011 at the Omni Parker House Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts. The conference organized by 4D – makers of the open-source JavaScript platform Wakanda – is open to all interested in JavaScript as the singular language for business Web application development.
Wakanday is about showing that JavaScript is more than just for client development, said Luc Hollande, CEO of the 4D group. Were making a serious attempt to establish JavaScript as the language for the development of professional business Web applications, and so anyone from across the spectrum whos already using or interested in using JavaScript, SSJS, NoSQL, open source and application development should attend.

Confirmed speakers
Wakanday has already confirmed some impressive leaders in the JavaScript and application development communities. Al Hilwa, program director for IDC, will deliver the analyst perspective on todays state of development technologies namely the future of JavaScript and the challenges it presents in the enterprise and Douglas Crockford, JavaScript architect at Yahoo and a prolific proponent of the language, will be on hand to speak as well. Wakanda lead developer Laurent Ribardiere will present the advantages of an all-JavaScript solution, while Joe McCann, principal architect at subPrint Interactive, will offer his views on open source, Web standards and more. Further speakers are being confirmed.
The conference is still accepting speaker proposals from individuals from various backgrounds, most notably founders or leading experts of JavaScript projects and developers from organizations who are using JavaScript for mission-critical applications.
