MyAjaxApp Creates A Hackathon Service - Ajaxathon.com

Montreal, Quebec (PRWEB) May 30, 2012

Hackathons have become very popular today for one reason – they are an excellent opportunity to create new computer programs. The restraints of development are lifted so the coder has the freedom to just play. A Hackathon is an event to create new technology or to improve on existing technology within a given time frame. Hackers get together in groups or teams and challenge themselves to come up with a new application, game, or feature, and show off their coding chops. A Hackathon can last days or just hours, but the hackers must produce all their code in the competition. Hackers can prepare by reading API documentation, or by planning out what they will code ahead of time.

The idea with the Ajaxathon is to create new web services using only HTML5 and JavaScript. At Ajaxathon.com, Hackathons will be hosted online, on the weekends, within a given time frame. Developers will sign up to Ajaxathon.com prior to the event, and will then use an online console to build their application.

MyAjaxApp will provide a development environment that will wrap around the services of MyAjaxApp.com, and Hackers will be challenged to build innovative web services from the provided Dev Console. The Dev Console will allow a developer to create multi-tenant database tables in MyAjaxApp’s AjaxDB Database, build HTML5 code integrated with jQuery, Adobe Spry, Twitter Bootstrap, and MyAjaxApp’s ajaxPlugin libraries.

The developers application will receive a URL on Ajaxathon.com where they can showcase their work. Each Hacker will have a public profile page that describes them, and lists their business info and work. Developers will be able to use their public profile to network and communicate with other developers.

Many tech companies are looking at implementing a Hackathon into their work-flow. Facebook, which has always had an internal Hackathon, even came up with some of their best ideas from their Hackathons, such as photos, their like button and videos. Jerry Visser, owner of MyAjaxApp, observed the popularity of Hackathons and thought a hackathon web service within MyAjaxApp would be a fun and challenging way to help developers easily build new web services. Jerry states, Many Facebook users that I speak with tell me they dont like using it, or some feature of it. So I wanted to create Hackathons to help developers build many alternative web sites like it.

MyAjaxApp.com is a new company based in Montreal Canada, with their premier product, AjaxDB, conceived and in development since 2005. MyAjaxApp.com was founded by Jerry Visser, who graduated from British Columbia Institute of Technology where he studied Electrical and Computer Engineering. Since 2004, Jerry has been creating enterprise data-driven solutions in Canada.
